When I started making this dish, I had no idea what I wanted to do, or where it would end up, but one of those wonderful things happened and it turned out delicious. I immediately thought of a Sloppy Joe when I tasted it, but I had used some Italian seasonings, and therefore it had those flavors as well. So what else could I do...my Italian Sloppy Joe was born.

How To Make sloppy joes italiano

  • 1
I chopped the carrots, onion, and garlic separately in my food processor and added them to a large skillet with about 1 tbs. of olive oil. I also added the ground beef and allowed the veggies to cook down and the beef to come to a light brown.

Then I added the two cans of diced tomatoes, and the seasonings and simmer another 30 min. I poured the mixture in a colander and allow the juice to drain.

I then made this french bread. https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/bread/savory-bread/heavenly-garlic-bread.html?p=1 Once the bread was done, I added the meat, mushrooms and cheese and popped in the micro just long enough to melt the cheese.
