Ingredients For sloppy joes

  • 3-4 lb
    ground beef, browned & drained
  • 1 jar
    chili sauce (12 oz)
  • 1 jar
    water, fill empty chili sauce bottle and use
  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 1/4 c
    cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    sweet pickle relish (add more to taste)
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    green pepper, chopped

We added a little extra water after an hour. Just keep an eye on this while it's simmering to make sure it does not dry out.
  • Browning ground beef.

    Brown ground beef and drain in a large skillet.
  • Chopped onion, bell pepper, and sweet relish added to beef.
