This is such an easy dish I can have it on the table in 30 minutes. It's great after a busy day at work or when unexpected guests stop in it is easy to double even triple.

Ingredients For simple and delicious salisbury steaks

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • cooking spray, or olive oil
  • 1 pkg
    8 oz. presliced fresh white mushrooms
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    finely chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 Tbsp
    ruby port wine, or dry sherry
  • 1 jar
    beef gravy
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • tyme sprig

How To Make simple and delicious salisbury steaks

    Combine first 5 ingredients; mix well. Shape mixture into 4 (1/2 inch thick) patties.

    Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray (or Olive oil); place over medium heat until hot. Add patties; cook 4 minutes on each side or until done. Remove patties from skillet, and set aside.

    Increase heat to medium high. Add mushrooms, onion, tyme, and salt & pepper to taste; saute 3 minutes. Add Port; saute 1 minute.

    Stir in gravy, thyme and salt and pepper to taste; return patties to skilet. Cook 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

    Garnish with thyme sprigs, if desired.
