looked this up on the internet, then added my own spices to make it my own. I cook almost everything with garlic. Also the next time I make it I think I'll sprinkle 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese in between the meat and mashed potato layers. I think that would be real tasty too. Let me know what you think.

Ingredients For sheperds (cottage) pie

1 stickcelery stalk

1small onion

2 clovegarlic, minced

1 Tbspolive oil

2 lbground beef

4 cpotatoes

1/2 cgreen beans

1 pkgdry onion soup mix

1 tspthyme, dried

1 Tbspflour

1 cbeef broth
-
3 Tbspbutter
-
1/2 cmilk
How To Make sheperds (cottage) pie

1Peel and cube potatoes and cook until tender, drain

2add butter and milk to potatoes and mash, set aside

3In a skillet. add olive oil, onion, garlic and celery, saute until tender

4add green beans cook until tender

5add ground beef and cook until no longer pink, drain any fat

6add flour, thyme, cook while stirring to avoid a raw flour taste. Then add beef broth and cook until starts to thicken.

7While doing step 6. Preheat oven to 400

8Pour your beef mixture into glass 9X13 pan or casserole dish, then top with mashed potatoes, spreading out to edges to seal.

9Bake at 400 for 30-45 mins or until hot and bubbly.
