How To Make shepard's pie (improvised)

  • 1
Prep ~ Dice the oniona and mince the garlic. Also cut up the bacon into bite size pieces.
  • 2
In a large skillet add ground chuck and bacon cook thoroughly. Add cinnamon and nutmeg. Then add onions, browning the meat. Add garlic and cook until all is well mixed and onions are translucent.
  • 3
While beef is cooking make the potatoes according to the box recipe for 4-5 servings. Instead of adding butter, use the drippings from the meat mixture for extra flavor. Add Dill and Garlic Powder.
  • 4
Put veggies in a microwave safe bowl and cover allowing to steam for 7 minutes.
  • 5
Now you are ready to layer the ingredients. On the bottom pour in the meat mixture. Then pour the veggies on top making sure to spread evenly. Use a few pinches of the cheddar over the veggies. Then pour on the potatoes, again spreading evenly. Use a fork for a simple design. Cover with remaining cheddar and bake at 425F until top is brown and melty.
