Easy to prepare, and oh-so yummy! It looks like a lot of ingredients, but is definitely better than packaged "chili mixes"!

Ingredients For spicy chili

2 lbground round or ground sirloin

1 mdwhite onion, chopped

3 candark red kidney beans
-
1 canstewed tomatoes (28 oz or 1 quart jar home-canned stewed tomatoes)

3 cantomato sauce (15 oz each)

8 ozfresh button mushrooms, sliced

1/4 cchopped jalapeno peppers

1 1/2 Tbspcumin
-
1 1/2 Tbspchipotle chili powder

1 tspgarlic powder
-
1 tspthyme
-
1 tsppaprika
-
1/2 tspcoriander
-
1 Tbspbrown sugar
-
1 tspcelery seed

salt and pepper, to taste
How To Make spicy chili

1In dutch oven, brown meat with onions. Drain well and return to pan.

2Add tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes, kidney beans, mushrooms, jalapenos, and brown sugar/spices.

3Bring to full boil, and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 2 hours to allow flavors to meld, stirring occasionally. NOTE- Cumin, chili powder, and jalapeno amounts can be adjusted to suit your personal taste.
