Ingredients For savory swiss steak

1.5 lbround steak

2 Tbspworcestershire sauce

1 cantomatoes, 16 ounces

2stalks celery, finely chopped

2carrots, peeled and grated

1finely chopped onion

2 Tbspoil
-
2 Tbspbutter
-
1/4 tsppepper
-
1 tspsalt
-
2 tspdry mustard
-
1/4 cflour
-
1 Tbspbrown sugar
How To Make savory swiss steak

1Cut steak into 6 serving-size portions.

2Coat with a mixture of flour, mustard, salt and pepper.

3Using a large frying pan, brown meat in half the butter and oil.

4Transfer to crockpot.

5Heat remaining butter and oil in frying pan.

6Saute onions, carrots and celery until glazed.

7Add tomatoes, worcestershire and brown sugar.

8Heat, scraping up drippings.

9Pour over meat.
-
10Cover.

11Cook on low, 6 to 8 hours, or until tender.

12Serve meat with sauce spooned over.

13Sprinkle with parsley.
