4 lbrump roast, trimmed

1 cdry red wine

1/4 ccider vinegar

3 lgonions, sliced

2 stalkcelery, sliced

2whole allspice

4whole garlic cloves

1 Tbspsalt

1/2 tsppepper

3 Tbspflour

3 Tbspwater

1 cgingersnap cookies, crushed
How To Make sauerbraten - crockpot

1Trim roast of all excess fat. In large bowl, combine all ingredients except roast, flour, water and gingersnaps; stir well. Place roast in marinade with fat side down; refrigerate overnight.

2Pour vegetable marinade into Crock pot. Place marinated roast in crock pot with fat side up. Cover and cook on low setting 8 1o 12 hours.

33. Thirty minutes before serving, remove roast and turn to high setting. Make a smooth paste of flour and water; stir into crock pot with gingersnaps. Cook and stir until thickened. Slice roast and return to gray for serving.
