Ingredients For sauer kraut & meatballs

  • 1 lb
    ground chuck
  • 1/2 lb
    ground pork
  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped onion
  • 3/4 c
    fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp
    caraway seeds
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lg
    egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 can
    (27 oz.) sauerkraut, undrained
  • additional parsley

How To Make sauer kraut & meatballs

  • 1
    Combine the first eleven ingredients in a large bowl; shape into 18 meatballs. Brown meatballs in a large skillet in hot oil. Remove and drain.

    Place the sauerkraut in the skillet and top with the meatballs.
  • 3
    Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through. Add water, if necessary. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
