My daughter LOVES frozen salsbury steaks, so I decided to make my own & I'm happy to say now if she gets a frozen one she says it's not as good as mommy's.

Ingredients For salsbury steak

  • FOR BEEF
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    saltine cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 can
    golden mushroom soup,
  • 1
    envelope onion soup mix
  • 1
    egg beaten
  • FOR GRAVY
  • 1/2 can
    water
  • 1 jar
    savory beef gravy
  • 1/2 can
    golden mushroom soup, (rest of can from patties)
  • 1-8 oz can
    mushrooms
  • 2 dash
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper

How To Make salsbury steak

  • 1
    Combine ingredients for patties in bowl. Mix well and form into 4 good size oval patties. Brown patties on both sides. Don't cook all the way through as they will continue to cook in the gravy.

    Combine the gravy ingredients in a bowl and pour over patties. Gently lift the patties to let some of the gravy get under the patties. Cover and reduce heat to med/low and let simmer in gravy for 20-30 minutes.

    Serve with Mashed potatoes & veggie of choice.
