I can't remember exactly where I got this recipe because I've had it for 40 or so years. I think that it came from a Campbell's Soup cookbook.

Ingredients For salisbury steak

1 canfrench onion soup, divided

1 1/2 lblean ground beef

1/2 cdry bread crumbs (plain)

1egg, slightly beaten

1/4 tspsalt
-
dashblack pepper
-
1/4 ccatsup
-
1 tspworcestershire sauce
-
1/2 tspprepared yellow mustard
-
1/4 cwater
-
1 Tbspall-purpose flour
How To Make salisbury steak

1Mix remaining ingredients with remaining soup. Pour over patties in pan and cook on low heat about 20 minutes or until meat is cooked through.

2Thoroughly mix 1/3 cup soup with ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and pepper; shape into 6 oval patties. Brown and drain.

3Serve with cooked noodles or rice.

4MY NOTE: I am not fond of the gravy that is made with this, so I generally will substitute it with a brown gravy mix and the remainder of the soup (as shown in photo).
