These are the stuffed peppers my Hungarian mother-in-law used to make.

Ingredients For rusty's stuffed peppers

6 lggreen peppers, cleaned and parboiled for 5 minutes
- STUFFING

1/2 conions, chopped

1/2 lbground chuck
-
2 Tbsp"fat" - olive or canola oil would be fine

5 Tbspuncooked rice
-
1 cwater
- SAUCE
-
1 cantomato soup
-
1 1/2 tspsugar
-
3/4 tspsalt
-
1/8 tspfreshly ground black pepper
How To Make rusty's stuffed peppers

1Saute the onions in fat until tender. Cook the rice in the water until it is fluffy and the water has been absorbed. Combine the onions, rice, and ground chuck and mix well. Stuff the peppers.

2Make the sauce by combining all the ingredients in a saucepan. Cook for 10 minutes.

3Place the peppers in a baking dish, pour the sauce over top and bake for about 1 hour at 350 degrees F until the peppers are tender.
