This is a super fast and incredibly delicious meal that tastes like you've been cooking for hours. It would also be very easy to make this a crowd size meal! NOTE: Lean Butterball Sweet Italian sausage 8 grams of fat per serving. Pork Sweet Italian Sausage: 18.5 grams of fat per serving.

Ingredients For rigatoni and sauce reduced fat

    sweet italian turkey sausage links
  • 1/2 lb
    93/7 or leaner ground beef
  • 2
    15 oz cans diced tomatoes w/oregano, basil, and garlic, no salt added
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1/2 c
    sweet onion, diced finely
  • 2 Tbsp
    tomato paste, no salt added
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried sweet basil
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried italian seasoning
  • 4
    mushrooms sliced
  • 3 c
    cooked pasta
  • parmesan or mozzarella cheese

How To Make rigatoni and sauce reduced fat

    Cook pasta according to package directions.

    Place garlic and onion in skillet, add beef and remove sausage from casing and add to skillet. Cook till meat is almost done, add canned tomatoes and paste, Italian seasoning and basil. Simmer for about 15 min. Add mushrooms and simmer another 5 min.

    Mix pasta with meat sauce. Garnish with mozzarella or Parmesan cheese.
