I found this recipe in a "Mom's Best Meals" Taste of Home collection. It was Darlis Wilfer's mom's recipe from Phelps, Wisconsin. It's good with mashed potatoes and a vegetable.

Ingredients For porcupine meatballs

1/2 cuncooked long grain rice

1/2 cwater

1/3 cchopped onion

1 tspsalt

1/2 tspcelery salt

1/8 tsppepper

1/8 tspgarlic powder

1 lbground beef

2 Tbspvegetable oil

1 8-oz cantomato sauce

1 cwater

2 Tbspbrown sugar

2 tspworcestershire sauce
How To Make porcupine meatballs

1In a bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Crumble the beef over the top and mix well.

2Shape into 1-1/2 inch balls.

3In a large skillet, cook the meat in oil over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain.

4Combine tomato sauce, water, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce; pour over meatballs. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for one hour.
