pj's chili

I love chili. Created this for the Super Bowl. Added just a bit of jalapeno to give it a little kick. I like the "wow" factor but not enough to knock me to the floor, if you know what I mean. I think beans make the chili so I don't cheat on them. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and watch the game.

Ingredients For pj's chili

  • 1 lb
    hamburger
  • 1
    onion halved and quartered
  • 2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp
    creole seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1
    jalapeno pepper, canned
  • 1 can
    tomatoes, diced with green chilies
  • 1 can
    tomato sauce, 15 oz.
  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 can
    chili beans, do not drain
  • 1 can
    kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can
    black beans, drained

How To Make pj's chili

  • 1
    Brown hamburger with onions, then drain. Add all seasonings, jalapeno,diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and water. Simmer uncovered on low for about 1 hour. Add all the beans and simmer for another hour. (I remove the pepper before serving for fear I'LL be the one to find it!)
