This casserole was a big hit with my family. You can basically add whatever 'toppings' you want. I got this recipe from a website called Heavenlyhomemakers.com

Ingredients For pizza casserole

  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 sm
    onion, minced or 2 tbsp dry minced
  • 2 c
    pizza sauce (recipe follows)
  • 1 c
    water
  • 8 oz
    pasta, any shape you desire
  • 4 oz
    sliced & chopped pepperoni
  • 1 c
    or more shredded cheese of choice
  • 1 c
    sliced black olives, opt
  • 1 c
    sliced mushrooms, opt
  • 1
    green pepper, diced, opt
  • PIZZA SAUCE
  • 2 c
    tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp
    dry basil
  • 1 tsp
    dry oregano
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt

How To Make pizza casserole

  • 1
    Brown hamburger meat & onion in a large pot until done
  • 2
    Add the pizza sauce & water into the pot.

    Bring this to a boil, then stir in the pot. Season with salt, if needed.

    Boil, stirring often, until pasta is tender
  • 5
    Stir in ‘toppings‘ chosen (except cheese).

    Pour into a greased 9x13
  • 7
    Cover with foil & bake at 350’ for about 30 minutes

    Remove foil, add the cheese & bake 15-20 more minutes. At this point you could arrange pepperoni slices to top of casserole for a nice presentation.
