this sounded so odd when I saw it years ago in a mag. I had to try it, great for Potluck dinners and a crockpot dinner after a long day, serve with chips and potato salad and you have a meal, and don't worry, the pickle is a very light flavor in the backround, although you wont think so while your making it

Ingredients For pickle beef

  • 4-5 lb
    boneless chuck roast
  • 36 oz
    large jar dill pickles, whole
  • 1/2 c
    chile sauce
  • buns for serving

How To Make pickle beef

    brown chuck roast on all sides
  • 2
    place in crockpot
  • 3
    add whole pickles with juice, also chile sauce
  • 4
    cover and turn to high for 5-6 hours or turn to low for 7-8 hours

    remove lid, discard pickles, remove meat to platter, with 2 forks, shred meat, return to crockpot and let simmer in juice for about 15 minutes

    to serve, use slotted spoon, place meat on buns and serve
