Ingredients For picadillo

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2
    green pepper, diced
  • 1 md
    onion, diced
  • 4 clove
    garlic, mined; or to taste
  • 2 Tbsp
    cumin
  • 2 Tbsp
    green olives
  • 2 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 2 md
    potatoes, diced
  • 1/2 c
    white cooking wine
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • salt and pepper taste
  • water to cover

How To Make picadillo

  • 1
    cook peppers in olive oil for 2 min then add the onions and garlic and cook for 2-3 min.
  • 2
    add ground beef and add garlic powder and and cumin, salt and pepper and olives and brown the meat
  • 3
    once browned add the tomato paste, white wine, potatoes and water to cover then bring to a boil; then bring to a simmer and partially cover; cook for 30 min or until potatoes are soft and water is gone
  • 4
    serve with white rice (optional)
