This is yet another recipe from one of my Rural Arkansas Magazines. I usually flour, salt, pepper and then brown the roast in some bacon drippings before baking it....may not be necessary, but that's just me (the way we like it).

Ingredients For overnight roast...cin

  • 4 lb
    roast
  • 1 pkg
    onion soup mix
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can
    water (use empty soup can and stir, to rince of any remaining soup)

How To Make overnight roast...cin

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 200°F. Mix together onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup and water. Put roast in a roasting pan (or your Dutch Oven) and pour soup mixture over top of roast.....cover with foil. Cook overnight for at least 6 hours. Take out of oven, slice.
