Ingredients For oven roasted brisket / cassies

1 tspground ginger

1 tspground mustard

1 tsponion powder

1fresh beef brisket (4 to 5 pounds)

2 cwater
-
1 cketchup
-
1/2 cworcestershire sauce

2 - 3 Tbspbrown sugar
-
2 tspliquid smoke, optional
-
1 - 2 tspchili powder
-
1 Tbspdijon mustard
-
2 Tbspminced, garlic ( i used jarred )

salt and pepper to taste or heat it up with hot pepper flakes
How To Make oven roasted brisket / cassies

1Combine the ginger, onion powder and mustard; rub over brisket. Place on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake, uncovered, at 325° for 2 hours.

2Let stand for 20 minutes. Thinly slice meat across the grain.

3Place in a foil-lined 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. In a bowl, combine the water, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic, Dijon mustard, liquid smoke if desired and chili powder; pour over meat. Cover tightly with foil; bake 3 hours longer or until tender.

4Enjoy as dinner with potato and other sides, or we are having brisket sandwiches. Fork tender, and delish!
