Don't let the prep time on this scare you. It's easier than it sounds..And totally worth the overnight marination process..Delicious and the perfect thing to make on that lazy Sunday afternoon for your family. My family loves this..and requests it often, it's tottaly worth the hassle I have trying to find a brisket in our neighborhood to prepare.

Ingredients For oven brisket...

  • 3-4 lb
    beef brisket
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    salt
  • THAW BRISKET, AND COAT WITH SALT AND SUGAR AND SOME PEPPER. ALLOW MEAT TO MARINATE IN THIS MIXTURE OVERNIGHT IN REFRIGERATOR.
  • 2 c
    bbq sauce- any kind
  • 1 c
    catsup
  • 3/4 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    vinegar
  • 1 jar
    any size, any flavor jam ( delicious with peach)

How To Make oven brisket...

    Set Oven at 300.
  • 2
    Mix all remaining ingredients in a medium bowl. Place Brisket into your oven cooking bag, in a roasting pan. Pour remaining ingredients over meat and seal bag. Cut about 4 small slashes into sealed bag.

    Bake in 300 Degree oven for 2 hours. Then turn oven down to 250 and bake for 6 more hours.

    Remove from oven and let rest for 15 minutes. Pour sauce into a bowl for serving and slice meat against the grain. Enjoy!!
