old fashioned meatloaf
This was my mom's recipe. I always wondered how she made the meatloaf so moist and flavorful. I think its the mixture of the beef suet, water and eggs. Using real bread crumbs instead also adds a different texture. Awesome

Ingredients For old fashioned meatloaf

1 lbground beef

1/2 lbground sausage
-
2 Tbspprepared beef suet

4 slicebread ground in food processor

2 lgeggs beaten

1 mdonion diced

1 tspsalt

1/4 tspblack pepper
-
1 1/2 tspground sage

1 Tbspbeef bouillon

1/4 chot water
-
4strips of bacon
-
1/2 jarchili sauce
How To Make old fashioned meatloaf

1To prepare beef suet. Melt the suet on stove top and pour through a fine mesh strainer. Let sit at room temp to solidify.

2Preheat oven 350 degrees Mix all ingredients together except for bacon and chili sauce. Place in a baking pan.

3Top with slices of bacon. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and top with chili sauce and bake another 15 to 20 minutes until meat is done.
