Ingredients For nevada baked steak

  • 2 lbs. round steak, cut 1" thick
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 can tomato paste (6 oz)
  • dash pepper
  • 1 t. worcestershire
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/4 t. thyme
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 t. oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced and separated into rings
  • 1 green pepper, sliced in rings

How To Make nevada baked steak

  • 1
    Trim fat from steak. Cut into serving pieces. Place in shallow dish or pan.

    Mix salt, pepper, tomato paste, Worcestershire, water, bay leaf, thyme and vinegar. Pour over meat. Refrigerate overnight. Remove from refrigerator, drain sauce from meat. Reserve.

    Rub meat with garlic clove. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. Pound flour into meat with mallet.

    Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Add meat. Cook until brown.

    . Place meat in baking dish. Drain oil from skillet. Add reserved sauce and heat. Arrange in baking dish. Arrange sliced onion rings and green pepper rings on top of meat. Pour hot sauce over all. Cover tightly. Bake in 350 oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Serves 6
