My "famous" meatballs are famous with my family and friends!!! I thought it was about time I share them with the world! and my friends on JAP. My recipe is over 50 years old. I often freeze them, so they are ready to add to pasta sauce, creamed gravy & noodles or just a meatball sandwich. They will be cooked and ready to go. Enjoy..Nancy....10/4/12

Ingredients For my famous meatballs, ..golf ball size

  • 1-1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lg
    egg ... lightly beaten
  • 1/2 c
    crushed saltines
  • 11/3 c
    grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped onion

How To Make my famous meatballs, ..golf ball size

    Pre-heat oven to 350F. In a large bowl combine the egg, milk, onion, cheese & cracker crumbs. Lightly mix.

    Add ground beef to the same bowl, mix well with your clean washed hands & nails.. Remember to remove your rings... Thank you.

    When the mixture feels right, smooth and well combined. Shape into golf ball size meat balls. Place on a baking pan, with a small raised edge. Bake turn once, gently. COOKED meatball temperature should be....160F.

    Gently remove from pan..onto a wire rack to cool. Serve with your favorite pasta sauce,and spaghetti. Or freeze for a meal or a sandwich later. *** TIP : Next time you make themm you might want to make a double batch.. for freezing. They go......galloping away,.....FAST !
