When my kid's were young and I was broke (single Mom), this was a reoccurring 'staple' at our dinner table! The kid's loved it, and it only took a few mins to throw together after a long day at work!

Ingredients For mom's quick and easy cheeseburger pie

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2-3/4 c
    finely chopped onion (sweet)
  • 1-2 clove
    garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
    dill pickle juice
  • 1/3 c
    milk
  • 1/2-1 c
    dill pickle, finely chopped
  • 2-2 1/2 c
    cheese, shredded
  • 1 pkg
    refrigerated pie crust

How To Make mom's quick and easy cheeseburger pie

    Heat the oven to 425*. Place pie crust in glass pie pan (prick bottom of shell),bake for approx 15mins.

    Cook and brown beef (broken up into small pieces), onion, garlic in 10 inch skillet until brown; drain off grease. Sprinkle with salt and flour. Stir in pickle liquid, milk, pickles and 1-1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese (I use the package kind or grate my own off a block). Spoon into pie shell.

    Bake 15 mins; sprinkle the rest of shredded cheese over top. Bake until crust is golden brown, about 5 mins longer.
