Ingredients For mixy burgers

  • 1 Tbsp
    shortening/butter
  • 1/2 c
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 c
    green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/4 c
    celery, finely chopped
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/4 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz
    can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    garlic salt

How To Make mixy burgers

  • 1
    Melt shortening. Add onion, green pepper, & celery~cook until soft and lightly browned. Set aside and cover to keep warm or Add beef and brown all together. Add remaining ingredients~simmer 10 minutes, until thickened, stirring occasionally. Spoon onto warm buns or toasted bread. *recipe can easily be doubled~ingredients adjusted more or less to suit your taste...just like gr'ma did!*
