mix it up chili

This looks like a lot of work, but really it isn't and its worth the effort. If you like your chili a little warm and a little different than this is one for you. I know it has a weird bunch of flavors all in one... but this is why I call it Mix it up Chili. Kind of like how my dad has always cooked. He was a cook in the Vietnam War and just learned to use what you had on hand, even if it was just mixing up a few things you never thought you would have put together. I hope you enjoy it as my family does.

Ingredients For mix it up chili

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    bulk italian sausage
  • 1 can
    (29 oz) tomatoe sauce
  • 1 can
    (16 oz) mild chili bean
  • 1 can
    (14.5 oz) petite cut diced tomatoes with zesty jalapeno's
  • 1 can
    ( 14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with basil,garlic and oregano
  • 1 can
    (6 oz) tomatoe paste
  • 1 can
    (15.5 oz) bush's chili magic traditional mild chili starter
  • 1 can
    (16 oz) pinto beans
  • 1 can
    (15 oz) pork n beans
  • 1 lg
    onion, diced
  • 1/2 lg
    green bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1/2 lg
    red bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 Tbsp
    bacon bits
  • 4
    cubes of beef bouillon
  • 1/2 c
    beer
  • 1/4 c
    chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 2 tsp
    hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tsp
    sea salt
  • 1 tsp
    white sugar
  • 1
    bag of corn chips (optional)
  • 1
    (8 oz) shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 sm
    container of sour cream (optional)

How To Make mix it up chili

    Crumble gound beef and sausage into frying pan. Cook until evenly browned. Drain off excess grease.

    In a large crockpot, combined all the ingredients, don't drain juices from the canned beans. Stir and cover and cook on low heat for at least 8 hours. The longer it cooks the better it will taste as with any chili.

    If you don't want to put in a crockpot, cook in a large stock pot, stir to blend, cover and simmer over low heat for at least 2 hours. Stirring occasionally.

    Dish out in to bowls and top off with cheese, sour cream and corn chips.
