Here is another recipe from Grandma's old Good Housekeeping book, "hamburger & hot dog book". This is one that is simple and very different from the run-of-the-mill sandwiches.

Ingredients For mexicanos

1 1/2 lbground chuck

1 1/2 tspsalt

8 x 8 x 2 pan of baked cornbread

1 canchili, heated or baked beans
How To Make mexicanos

1Season the chuck with salt and shape into 6 patties; saute to desired rareness.

2Meanwhile, cut cornbread into squares, split, and toast.

3Serve one patty on each square and pour hot chili or baked beans over all. Can accompany with tomato soup.
