meat loaf with cheese
This is a family favorite. My grandmother gave me a little paper back cookbook when I got married 24 years ago, called The Hamburger Cookbook by Ethel Mayer. I believe that is where the original recipe comes from. Be sure to use good quality cheeses in this recipe. I have it sliced in the deli rather than just buying Kraft singles. It really makes all the difference.

Ingredients For meat loaf with cheese

2 lblean ground beef

1 smchopped onion

2eggs, lightly beaten

1 tspsalt

1/4 tsppepper

1/4 tsppaprkia

1 tspcelery seeds

1 1/2 cmilk
-
3/4 ccubed american cheese + 3 slices

3/4 ccubed swiss cheese + 3 slices
How To Make meat loaf with cheese

1Mix all the ingredients together except for the reserved cheese and paprika; Mix well until ingredients are well combined.

2Press mixture into baking dish. Put into a 350 oven and bake for 50 minutes.

3Remove from oven. Lay the pieces of cheese on top; sprinkle with paprika. Bake another 10 minutes or until cheese has just melted.
