Does a burger get any manlier than these juicy, thick burgers smothered in caramelized whiskey mushrooms, onions and topped with cheese? Add a little fried bacon and he'll be in heaven! Ingredients For man pleasing mushroom whiskey burger
- BURGERS

2 1/2 lbground sirloin (or beef of choice)

1/4 cwhiskey (i used evan williams bourbon)

1 Tbspworcestershire sauce
-
1 tspgarlic paste or 1 tsp dried
-
1 tspbasil paste
-
2 tsponion powder
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
mozzarella cheese, slices (or cheese of choice)
-
buns or rolls of choice
-
fried bacon, optional
- CARAMELIZED MUSHROOMS AND ONIONS

12 ozpkg sliced mushrooms, fresh

1/2 lgonion, sliced
-
1 Tbspbutter
-
1/8 cwhiskey (i used evan williams bourbon)

2 tspworcestershire sauce
-
1/2 tspgarlic paste
-
salt and pepper to taste
How To Make man pleasing mushroom whiskey burger

1Heat grill over medium high heat on stove until very hot. I use a cast iron grill pan. NOTE: you can also grill outside over hot coals.

2Place beef in large bowl.

3Whisk together whiskey, worcestershire sauce, garlic paste, basil paste, and onion powder. Pour mixture over beef and mix to combine.

4Divide into equal size patties, 6 to 8 depending on size you prefer.

5Place patties on hot grill. NOTE: you may have to cook in batches if cooking on stovetop or if you prefer you can grill on outdoor grill over hot coals. Grill to desired doneness. Right before burgers have finished cooking, add slices of cheese to top, turn heat off and cover with a lid for a minute or until cheese has melted.

6Serve on hot grilled buns/rolls and smother with caramelized mushrooms and onion. Add slices of fried bacon if desired. NOTE: I lightly butter the rolls and grilled until light brown.

7CARAMELIZED MUSHROOMS: Melt butter over medium/high heat in appropriate size skillet. Add mushrooms and onions.

8Whisk together whiskey, worcestershire sauce and garlic paste; pour over mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms and onions are tender and liquid has cooked down.
