I learned how to make this when working in a deli in Houston, Texas...many many many years ago, you can adjust recipe to suit any amount of servings

Ingredients For loose meat sandwich

2 pkgground beef, not too lean

1 lggreen pepper
-
3 Tbspdried onions
-
1 Tbspsea salt and pepper

1 pkgsliced swiss cheese

1 pkghoagie rolls or individual sandwich rolls
How To Make loose meat sandwich

1chop green pepper and onions into tiny pieces
-
2break down the ground beef into very small chunks
-
3put ground beef in large quart pan
-
4add peppers and onions to the meat
-
5simmer on medium low, keep breaking down meat.. you DO NOT want to brown the meat
-
6keep stirring mixture until meat, onions and peppers are are done..meat not pink, onions and peppers cooked

7DO NOT DRAIN

8turn heat down but not off
-
9slice rolls on 3 side, leaving one side connected

10spread mayonnaise on rolls
-
11put sliced swiss cheese on top of mayonnaise
-
12use slotted spoon and scoop mixture on to swiss cheese
-
13keep lots of napkins handy..it gets really drippy
