2 lblean ground beef

1 conion, chopped

1/2bell pepper, any color

1 cseasoned bread crumbs

1 Tbspbrown sugar

1 cevaporated milk (pet or store brand works)

2 lgeggs, slightly beaten

1 tspseasoned salt

1/4 tsplemon pepper

2 tspdry mustard
- SAUCE FOR PICANTE TOPPING :

3 Tbspbrown sugar
-
1/4 tspnutmeg
-
1/2 cketchup
How To Make savory meat loaf

1Meat loaf: Combine all ingredients in meat loaf; mix well and put in a well sprayed loaf pan. Bake in 350^ oven for 1 hour. While this is baking: combine the picante topping ingredients, mixing well . After meatloaf has baked for 40 minutes remove from oven and drain any collected grease carefully so as not to burn yourself. Now Pour some of the Picante topping over top of meatloaf and place back in the oven to continue baking until done. Note : I have made this in the microwave several times using a glass loaf dish and it comes out great and needs only about 20 minutes to cook.--- This is so good with the topping- that I often make extra to serve with the meat slices.
