Ingredients For italian sloppy joes

  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 md
    onion chopped
  • 4 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 lg
    portobello mushroom cap small dice
  • 1/2 c
    red wine
  • 1 Tbsp
    better than beef bouillon
  • 28 oz
    can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 c
    fresh basil leaves chopped
  • 1/2 c
    shredded parmesan cheese
  • fresh mozzarella cheese cut into 8 pieces
  • 4
    buns of choice

How To Make italian sloppy joes

  • 1
    Add oil to a large skillet. Add the beef, onions, and garlic and cook breaking up meat unitl meat is no longer pink. Add the mushrooms and cook 5 more minutes. Add the red wine and cook until reduced by half.

    Add the beef bouillion and the tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and let simmer until thickened. Stir in the basil.

    Place a spoon full on each bun topping with Parmesan and Mozzarrella and serve.
