I am always trying to come up with different hamburger recipes and this is one of our favorites.

Ingredients For italian burger

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    ground sausage, italian or pork
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried basil
  • 1 lb
    block mozzarella cheese
  • 1 jar
    spaghetti sauce or use home made
  • salt and pepper

How To Make italian burger

  • 1
    Combine meat and spices together.If using Italian sausage don't use as much of the spices. Form into 6 patties. Slice 3 slices of cheese, desired thickness, and place one slice on 3 of the hamburger patties. Place another patty on top of the cheese and seal the top patty with the bottom patty sealing the cheese inside. Grill, bake or fry until desired doneness. While burgers are cooking warm spaghetti sauce. Toast bun of your choice and while they are warm spread with butter and rub with a peeled garlic clove. Mayonniase buns and top with hamburger, spaghetti sauce and extra cheese.
