Fiance' is from Chicago and his favorite place to get a Beef Sandwich, is Portillo's. This is as close as I was able to get to it. Enjoy!!!

Ingredients For italian beef sandwiches

1 tspsalt

1 tspground black pepper

1 tsporegano, dried

1 tspbasil

1 tsponion salt

1 tspparsley flakes

1 tspgarlic powder

1 pkgitalian dressing mix

3 cwater
-
5 lbrump roast, pre-sliced

1 pkgmccormick au juse mix
How To Make italian beef sandwiches

1In a medium saucepan over medium high heat, combine the water, salt, ground black pepper, oregano, basil, onion salt, parsley, garlic powder, Au Juse and salad dressing mix. Stir well and bring just to a boil.

2Place roast in a slow cooker and pour mixture over the roast. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours OR high setting for 4 to 6 hours.

3Serve on Italian Rolls, with hot peppers and provolone cheese.
