Grandma W made this yummy Italian Beef recipe and then served it up on buns, or sometimes spaghetti. Mom had a different version, and mine changed also...but this one was the start of a family recipe that has been used for many occasions!

Ingredients For italian beef, grandma w's version

  • 3 lb
    rump roast, trimmed
  • italian seasoning
  • seasoned salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • flour
  • 1/2 stick
    butter
  • 1 pkg
    brown gravy, prepared

How To Make italian beef, grandma w's version

  • 1
    Rub roast with seasonings and flour. Top with butter and put in covered pan in oven at 275 degrees. Do the cooking the day before. When cooked, allow to cool completely and slice thin, against the grain. If there are pieces of fat on top, discard them. Add prepared gravy to juices, adjust seasonings. Put beef back into pan. Refrigerate overnight to absorb flavors. Warm up slowly when ready to use.
