Ingredients For irish beef stew the slow cooker way

  • 3 lb
    pot roast cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 1 can
    beer
  • 1 can
    chicken stock
  • 8 md
    carrots, cut up
  • 5
    potatoes peeled and cut up
  • 1
    onion chopped
  • 1 sm
    heavy cream
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce

How To Make irish beef stew the slow cooker way

    Heat 2 tablespoons canola oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring until soft and translucent. In a bowl toss cut up beef in 1 tablespoon of flour, season with salt and pepper until beef is well coated. Add seasoned beef into a pan and sear on all sides until brown.

    Add cook onions and sear beef into slow cooker.

    Peel and cut up potatoes and carrots, place into slow cooker, along with chicken stock, beer and Worcestershire sauce. Cook in slow cooker on low for 7 to 8 hours while you are at work.

    Place heavy cream into slow cooker about an hour before serving.
