This is just one of those dishes that comes together once you start adding ingredients. If you don’t like it to hot, omit the jalapeno’s and bake as directed. My husband said this was a winner….:-))))) And depending on how big or small your baking dish is, you could get two meals out of this. If you are going to only make one pie, you can freeze this and do something different with the rest. I’m thinking I may just stuff sweet banana peppers with the rest…top them with some cheese and bake them till they get all golden……thoughts???

Ingredients For holy mole meat pie….

1 & ½ lbs ground sirloin
-
5 green onions sliced using both white and green parts
-
8 ounce ½ bag cole slaw mix.

3 tablespoons mustard yellow mustard
-
½ med onion chopped
-
1 can 20 ounce stewed tomatoes
-
¼ jar 2 ounces hot mole sauce mixed with about 1 tablespoon water to soften it. this is really not that hot, i don’t think.

1 teaspoons kosher salt or sea salt
-
2 tablespoons fresh ground pepper
-
2 teaspoons light brown sugar
-
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes “ optional “

3 fresh jalapeno’s cut into slices
-
1 pre made pie crust
-
sour cream for garnish
How To Make holy mole meat pie….

1Fry sirloin till it is browned

2Add the green onions, cole slaw mix, mustard, onion, tomatoes, salt, pepper, light brown sugar, red pepper flakes & mole sauce.

3Simmer for about 30 minutes and let cool.

4Place the pie shell into a 9 inch pie pan, ladle the meat mixture into it, top with the cut jalapeno’s and bake for about 30 minutes @ 375 – 400 or until this is all bubbly and brown. This will depend on your oven.

5When you’re ready to serve top it with sour cream.
