My sister used to make this, omitting the pineapple, but I like it with the fruit. It's simple and good, served with rice.

Ingredients For hawaiian steak barbecue (tnt)

2 1/2 lbs. chuck steak, 1 1/2" thick

2 cloves garlic, crushed

2 onions, chopped

1 cup crushed pineapple, or pineapple juice

1 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup sherry
-
1 t. sugar

1 t. powdered ginger

1 t. salt
How To Make hawaiian steak barbecue (tnt)

1Remove fat and bones from steak. Cut into 1 1/2" cubes if desired. Put into shallow dish or large plastic bag. Mix together the remaining ingredients ( I also added about 4 T. hoisin sauce to the marinade. It was really good)

2Pour over steak cubes or whole steak in plastic bag. Marinate at room temperature about 4 hours. Stir occasionally. (I let this marinate all night in the fridge and cooked it the next day). Remove from marinade; put on skewers and grill over hot coals, or if making whole steak, broil about 10 to 12 minutes on each side on broiler rack. Serves 4
