Hamburger steak and pot pies are two of my husbands favorite meals so I decided why combine the both and it is delicious. I honestly thought my husband was going to eat it all. The pie crust recipe I use is from Melissa d'Arabian on Food Network.

For pie crust: Put butter, flour and salt into food processor, pulse until it looks like wet sand. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time pulsing after each. Keep adding water until dough begins to gather into large clumps. Transfer equal amounts of dough into 2 zip lock bags and pat into a disk. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Roll out 1 pie crust at a time on a floured board.

For pie: Boil carrots, potatoes and peas in water just until they start to get soft, drain. In large skillet brown ground beef, drain, put beef back into skillet and add worcestershire sauce, onions and garlic, cook about 5 minutes. Remove beef mixture from skillet. In same skillet add butter and olive oil, when butter is melted add flour and mix well, brown. Add enough beef broth to make a thick gravy. Add salt and pepper. Add beef and vegetables to gravy. Roll out 1 pie crust and place in a 9" pie plate, pour in meat and vegetable mixture, roll out 2nd pie crust and place on top, tuck and seal edges of pie crust. Cut 3 or 4 slits in top of crust. Bake at 400 degrees until crust is brown. I bake mine on a cookie sheet lined with foil encase any filling boils over.
