hamburger mushroom gravy

This dish was served in my elementary school (over 45 years ago) I told my Mother about the dish and she began making it at home.I made it for my boys and they enjoy it as much as I do. This is my Mother's recipe and it taste better than school(and she never had it)

Ingredients For hamburger mushroom gravy

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 t. butter
  • 1/4 onion,sliced
  • 1/4 c fresh mushrooms,sliced thin
  • 2 garlic cloves,minced
  • 2 t. flour
  • beef broth

How To Make hamburger mushroom gravy

  • 1
    Brown ground beef in a skillet,season with salt and pepper to taste. Drain,remove from skillet and set aside. Melt butter saute mushrooms and onion until onion is soft, add garlic. Add flour and stir well,gradually add enough broth until gravy is slightly thick,stirring constantly. Add browned beef ,stir well. Serve over mashed potatoes. Also good served over toast.
