This is my husband's Family Recipe. It is simple and delicious. His mother used to cook this steak for him as a kid and he shared it with me! You can adjust the seasoning to taste. As well as the oil. I wanted to share what we are having for dinner tonight! I hope you enjoy this simple version of Swiss Steak!

  • 1/4 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 4 md
    cube steak
  • 1 c
    oil
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 md
    onion

How To Make gunkel's swiss steak family recipe

  • Heat oil

    Heat oil in a pan over medum high heat.
  • Meat and flour

    Mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic together. Place cube steak on flat surface. Place a flour mixture on top. Using a knife tap the flour into the cube steak. Flip and repeat about 4 times. Shake off access and place in prepared oil.
  • Cube steak

    Cook Browning both sides of cube steak. Remove and set aside.
  • Onion

    Cut onion in to slices of choice. Place them in left over oil and lightly brown. Place Cube Steak back to the pan over the onion.
  • Beef broth Added

    Pour 2 small cans beef broth into the pan. Simmer for one hour.
  • Gravy

    Make your thinking agent. Rue. Flour and broth mixture to thicken the gravy.
