A Southern CA Pub is known for the best their chili by their patrons, so I asked and shock, shock, I was given their secret! Beer! So I added beer to my chili recipe and it turned out GREAT!

Ingredients For guinness chili

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 c
    beef broth
  • 1
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 4 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 3 Tbsp
    cumin
  • 1 can
    tomato paste, small
  • 1 7-3/4 can
    "el pato" sauce with jalapenos
  • 1 14-1/2oz can
    tomatoes, crushed
  • 1 15oz can
    pinto beans, drained
  • 1 can
    guinness beer

How To Make guinness chili

  • 1
    Brown the meat and onions and garlic in a large skillet.
  • 2
    Add beef broth, seasonings, tomatoes, El Pato and tomato paste.
  • 3
    Simmer 30 minutes.
  • 4
    Add can Guinness, Pinto beans, and simmer another 30 minutes.

    Garnish with: 1 pint Sour Cream 1 bunch Green Onion (chopped) 8 oz package Shredded Sharp Cheddar cheese
