ground beef hash
This recipe came with a skillet I purchased many years ago. It became a family favorite, even with my picky eater. Its very easy and quick to make. Served with a salad and it's a very satisfying meal. Great the next day too.

Ingredients For ground beef hash

1/4 cbutter or margarine

4 lgonions, coarsely chopped

2 lggreen peppers, thinly sliced

2 lbground beef
-
2 tspchili powder
-
2 tspsalt
-
1/2 tsppepper
-
4 (14 oz) canwhole tomatoes

1 cwater
-
1 cuncooked rice
-
shredded cheddar
How To Make ground beef hash

1Preheat skillet to 350. Melt butter or margarine. Add onions and green peppers to skillet and saute until soft. Transfer to plate.

2Add meat to skillet and cook until meat is browned, stirring occasionally to break up large pieces. Drain off fat.

3Return onions and peppers to skillet and stir in chili powder, salt and pepper. Then add tomatoes, water and rice. Stir to mix. Reduce temperature and simmer covered, for 35-40 minutes or until rice is tender. Stir occasionally.

4Serve hot with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
