My grandmother was a wonderful cook, Middle Eastern food being her specialty. This is a dish that I very much enjoyed growing up. This is traditionally made with lamb but I now use stew meat as it fits my budget. I hope you like it.

Ingredients For green bean stew

2 lbfresh green beans, stemmed & cut into pieces

1-1 1/2 lbbeef or lamb meat, cubed

2onions, chopped

3 Tbspbutter
-
2 cwater
-
1 candiced tomatoes
-
1/2-1 tspsalt
-
1/2 tsppepper
-
1/2 tspallspice
How To Make green bean stew

1Brown meat of choice in butter with the onions.

2Add the green beans & saute for 10 minutes.

3Add the salt, spices, tomatoes & water.

4Cover & simmer on low heat for 55 minutes or until meat & veggies are tender.

5Serve over white or brown rice.
