My husband and I love this sandwich. I usually end up making them at least every other week. They are so easy to make.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

These are not the same type of sliced meat gyros found in Greek restaurants but it's still an easy dinner full of Greek flavors. A creamy cucumber dill sauce adds a refreshing tang that complements the savory Greek-seasoned ground beef. Crisp lettuce and chopped tomatoes add a touch of fresh flavor to this tasty sandwich.

How To Make greek beef gyros

  • Brown ground beef, onion, Greek seasoning, pepper, and salt.
    1
Cook ground beef, onion, Greek seasoning, pepper, and 1/4 tsp salt in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir often, 7 to 9 minutes, or until beef crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain well on paper towels.
  • Combine cucumber, sour cream, dill, garlic, and salt.
    2
Stir together cucumber, sour cream, dill, garlic, and remaining 1/4 tsp. salt. I often make this ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator, as it allows for the flavors to infuse together.
  • Stuff a pita with ground beef, cucumber sauce, tomatoes, lettuce, and Feta cheese.
    3
Once everything is done, it is time to put it together. Spoon beef mixture, tomatoes, lettuce, and Feta into the pita pocket. Then top with cucumber sauce.
