This is not sauerbraten but has some of the same flavors with no fuss. This recipe came in a booklet for a crockpot. It is delicious with mashed potatoes, spaetzle or potato dumplings.

3/4 ccider vinegar

1/4 cketchup

1/2 conion, chopped

14 ozbeef broth

1envelope brown gravy mix

12ginger snap cookies, crumbled

4 lbbottom round or rump roast
How To Make german pot roast

1Combine all ingredients, except the meat, in the crockpot. Stir well. Add meat and turn over to coat well. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or high 3-4 hours.
