This steak topping is so good! The recipe came from my Dad. I add some fresh basil and use olive oil when I make it now. Its simple to make and can be used with a less expensive cut of meat to make a special occasion dish.

Ingredients For fresh mushroom cream sauce for steak

1 Tbspvegetable oil (or olive oil)

1 lbmixed fresh mushrooms of your choice

1small sweet onion, finely sliced

1/2 cbeef bouillon or beef broth

1/2 cheavy cream
-
freshly ground black pepper

1/4 cchopped fresh basil, optional
How To Make fresh mushroom cream sauce for steak

1Heat oil in a medium skillet. Add mushrooms and onions and cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring. Add broth and cream and just bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Add basil, if using, and pepper to taste. Simmer until slightly thickened (just 3 or 4 minutes). Serve over grilled or broiled steak.
