This recipe is very good and one of our favorites! I usually divide the recipe in half, makes alot! I serve it with mashed potatoes and butterbeans and cornbread! You will enjoy!

Ingredients For fake steak

  • 2 c
    milk, divided
  • 1 3/4 c
    dry bread crumbs
  • 2 md
    onions, finely chopped
  • 4 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 5 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 can
    26 ozs. each condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted

How To Make fake steak

    In a bowl, combine 1 3/4 cups milk, bread crumbs, onions, salt,pepper. Crumble beef over mixture;mix well. Shape into 24 oval patties,place in two greased 15-in.x10-in.x1-in. baking pans. Cover; refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 15 minutes; drain. Combine soup and remaining milk; pour over patties. Cover and bake 20-30 minutes longer or until meat thermometer reads 160 the patties will be a a lightly pink inside due to ingredients. Yield:24 servings! I half the recipe and then I have cooked them without waiting all those hours and they were great! I take a knife and test to see if are done and they really are great!
