El Dominicano was inspired by the traditional Cuban sandwich: It was created by Darlene Lopez Patent is Pending. The Dominicano is a zesty, juicy succulent sandwich guaranteed to melt in your mouth!

Ingredients For el dominicano (darlene’s version of the cuban sandwich)

  • 2 tbsp of butter or margarine
  • 4-5 hero sized breads or rolls
  • 1tbsp of darlene’s sautéed sofrito * all purpose marinade, paste and spread or all purpose seasoning of your choice
  • 3/4lb deli sliced roast beef
  • 1/4lb deli sliced hard salami
  • 1/4 lb deli salsalito turkey (or favorite)
  • 1/2 lb swiss cheese
  • ½ kosher dill pickle sliced thinly
  • mustard 3 squirts for each hero
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • salt, pepper, and adobo to taste

How To Make el dominicano (darlene’s version of the cuban sandwich)

    In a medium pan, Heat butter, add Darlene’s sofrito If you don't make your own just season the roast beef like you would any meat. (Remember it’s already cooked you do not want tough beef let alone a dry sandwich)

    Add roast beef, salami (on top the amount u would add of bacon like 3 slices per hero

    Add , turkey and pickles cook for 1 minute to let the flavors simmer
  • 4
    Add enough slices of Swiss to cover the top of the meat and immediately turn off stove. (Approximately 4 of the slices)

    Spread one tablespoon of mayo evenly on both sides of bread

    Add 3 squirts of mustard

    Place 2 additional slices of cheese on the bottom of the bread, and meat evenly over cheese

    Cut each into 3 pieces (on a slant) enjoy with Plantain, regular or Multi-Grain-chips
